The narrow Springbridge Road is being put under a lot of traffic pressure with so many access and egress points in such a short road, where there are shops, a church school, three entrance/exits for the multi-storey car-park, an access to the former BBC Car-Park for about 60 cars, entrance for deliveries to not only Morrisons and other shops but there are plans to add another 21 stores all having deliveries via Springbridge Road - and not to mention the proposed Haven Stables and Springbridge Mews developments which would see new accesses and egress for vehicles and pedestrians. There are also buses coming left into the road from Gordon Road plus the skip lorry blocking the whole of Springbridge Road (after partly entering the former BBC Car-Park to make the dangerous reversing manoeuvre) reversing into the Multi Storey Car-Park driving over the pedestrian islands! The huge container lorry struggling to come out of the Morrisons/TK Maxx entrance/exit is going to kill a child one of these days! There are visibility problems for cyclists too because of the brow of the bridge. There are only two spaces for delivery vehicles collecting parcels and mail (DHL, TNT, FEDEX, etc) and they have difficulty in parking daily without blocking up the road. With major excavations for the proposed demolitons and new developments, the road is going to be under stress for years.
