For the people who voted to remain

........I need to try to use a tactical vote. I'm in Ealing Southall, Sharma has a big majority. I was to vote LibDem but it seems a bit pointless. I suppose I'll have to vote Labour because at least Sharma voted against Article 50. Anyone got any wise thoughts? And please don't bother to answer me if you're happy with Brexit. Thanks

It's simple Penelope. Either vote with your heart or your head. It is rare that a local candidate will occupy both spheres so it's a simple choice.

it would be Green with my head but I don't want Brexit and it' not yet a done deal but I guess it will have to be the useless Sharma

For me it is a case of diluting the effect of May. Once Brexit starts in actual progress i think we will be in for a tough time. She wants to keep it secret, but i guess that the EU will be so transparent (leaking!!) That they are hoping for a popular remain backlash!! That is our main hope. But if i was in a more marginal seat i would vote against May. As we saw last night UKIP is redundant now that May has embraced the swivel eyed loons!!

I wanted to remain but unfortunately half of Bristish people didn't want to.Given that we have no option but to exit should we not be voting for someone that will be able to negotiate sensibly and look after our interests. Even for those that don't support Theresa May - do they honestly feel that Mr Corbyn would be walked all over by his EU counterparts - his own party don't even respect him?

Theresa May started off ok last year but has turned into some kind of demagogue. In reality when you read the briefings from Japan and Goldman Sachs today then maybe part the way through people might wake up to the damage that will be done. 200,000 jobs in Japanese firms at stake alone as half their inward investment to the EU is in the UK. Yes Corbyn may lack a few things but these negotiations are between the EU institutions and the other countries. We are effectively lobbyists in this deal. May has put around a myth that somehow she can negotiate the best deal. It is a question of what kind of deal they want to give us. The mechanics of the deal making are totally against us!! And we have pissed off a large number of key people involved. My hope is that somehow the deal is impossible and that we stay!! But we have messed up big time the chance to reform the EU. we should have tried that first. Theresa May is becoming like Thatcher on steroids!!

Whatever you vote Sharma will be re-elected - his majority is too high to overturn.  I don't think tactical voting is a goer.I would normally vote Labour, but I live in that part of the constituency which is in Hanwell, not Southall.  Mr Sharma seems to take no interest at all in our small area - I suppose this is only to be expected as we are but an appendage to his major area of interest.  However, I am not happy about this situation and will not be voting for him.  I would also find it difficult to vote for a party led by Jeremy Corbyn!  So, I'll be giving my vote to Nigel Bakhai of the Lib Dems.  Nigel was an excellent local councillor for our ward until he lost his seat at the last lot of local elections.

Nigel Bakhai was instrumental many years ago in getting a group of teenagers interested in politics when they came home saying that they had met him on a bus. So he is thought well of in this household!I wish that more youngsters learnt something about politics when they were at school. It would be good if people understood more about how the country they live in runs, that Councils don't only do the bins and that people have responsibilities as well as rights.

We are lucky in that in the last boundary change we were moved into Ealing Central & Acton.  We have felt that both Angie Bray and Rupa Huq have raised a higher profile in the area - or maybe we've just been more interested?www.theyworkforyou.com is a really interesting website.  You can find out what your MP does - or doesn't do!I'm sorry I can't help you with your dilemma.

Someone will step out of the shadows and make their move.'Interesting.You obviously remember, like me, when Labour won County Hall in the early 80s and Ken Livingstone decapitated the supposed leader. That was a lurch to the left, though, what will the dethroning of Corbyn be?

I think it will be someone from the centre Left. Not sure who yet. And Nick Clegg will re-emerge for the LibDems.
