'Goodnight Sweetheart' TV programme, remember that Gerry, with Nicolas Lydhurst, and the delightful Dervla Kirwan? I thought the wartime pub scenes captured the mood pretty well. The sort of pub like The ASKEW ARMS, mild & bitter, and thats your lot, not even crisps in those days. Mind you I could hear them singing on the way home, even Watney's Red Barrel will do that to you if you have enough of it.Bet even The Askew Arms has changed a bit since then, does it still exist I ask myself.

Colin,Nice burst of song, but Gerry probably feels he has copyright over posting songs! Don't mind him...let's have an occasional warble.  I wonder how many of us tried to sing your song out loud???Go on, own up!  I'll admit I gave  it a try.

Julia, nice to hear from you, It used to be 'spit & sawdust' year ago I expect its quite posh now. The only pub thats still like that is The Kings Head Theatre pub in Islington, its even got the till in old money, but I divert.

Thought I would bring this to the surface again I'm feeling nostalgic, and good grief! I've been posting on here for over 3 years, and I only came on here originally 'cos of the Tram(?). Seeing this might wake up dear Gerry, so Good Night Ealing, Good Night, till we meet tomorrow.
