Creepy Police Recruitment Ads

I was listening to LBC earlier today in the car when an ad came on for recruitment of new police officers. Firstly, I found it quite discomforting in a Big Brother sort of way. Secondly the ad directly echos a Conservative campaign commitment (not mention the reduction in police numbers since they have been in power). Hopefully the Home Office and not the Met are paying for the ads but even so it still is essentially political campaign advertising. Similarly these Get Ready for Brexit ads don't seem to actually provide any information and are  really just an attempt to convince us the government has everything under control.

I don't disagree. There needs to be more regulation of this kind of thing because it is ultimately theft of taxpayers' money by political parties. A body with in-house expertise needs to be established to oversee both local and national governments.

Couldn't agree more.  And "Party" politics should be barred at local level, there's no place for political agendas when you're running a Council.
