Christmas Day Dinner in Ealing

It looks like I will be descended on by more relations than I have the capacity to cater for this Christmas so we are considering eating out on Christmas Day.We would want a conventional Christmas dinner and it would have to be in the Ealing area. What are our options?

The Wetherspoons on the Broadway are open for Christmas day lunch I believe.

Wherever you go prepare to be consummately ripped-off, think of £50-60 per head as a minimum for anything passable.The staff cooking and waiting on you will (may) receive a modest premium but restauarateurs cash-in on Christmas Day punters.Have you thought about holding a celebration a week before or after with a smaller 'do' on the day itself.

Always found the food and service at The Grove, Ealing Green, to be very good though I must admit I have never been on Christmas Day itself.  Looking at the website the set menu on the day is priced at £75.

We went to The Grove for Christmas Day lunch a couple of years ago, and found it very good.This year we are going to the restaurant at the Doubletree Hilton hotel at Ealing Common.It seems to be a full Christmas lunch menu there, for £35 per head for three courses, which I think is an absolute bargain for Christmas Day!

The Grove would be my central Ealing pick but had a poor meal (exception) recently. The Black Dog in Brentford is my new found favourite place to eat. Wonderful food and service. I don’t know what they are doing for Christmas but would strongly recommend asking as this is by far the best place for food and a lovely atmosphere in the area.
