L'Osteria del Portico

Has L'Osteria del Portico (Italian restaurant on Ealing High Street) closed permanently?  I know there was an issue with the owner and some VAT shenanigans a few months ago.

Thanks. I walked past it yesterday lunchtime and it was shuttered; perhaps it has reduced hours.

Why is anyone lamenting or wanting to go near the closed Osteria d'el Portico? Anyone who nicked £300K of VAT is a bad man by any standards, he employed bad people and he associated with bad people, bearing all this is mind what could he have been capable of doing to the food with such loose morals? The £300K is probably just the tip of the ice berg

Isn't £300K of VAT fraud enough to maybe fire the odd synapse or neuron that this might be a bad man and there might be more to this story that can be hinted at? Try reading between the lines, be a man of letters rather than a pompous ass!

I would doubt that investigations have concluded, and I know that questions were already being asked about the operation of the Osteria d'el Portico well over a decade ago, I think there is more to come

I was not into Greel mythology either to be honest with you, (I am computer scientist by education with a postgrad in periodical journalism), however, I got so fed up with the Oxbridge lot browbeating me with classical references and allegory (and then add the English Lit. lot with SHakespeare and Chaucer ) so I found a few classical references that I liked to browbeat them back with (it is surprising how little most of them know, I have discovered that they tend to have a few throw-away references they know and that's it)

I am sorry I descended into the Anglo Saxon, might I be so bold as to suggest that instead of saying "prove it" you might  try taking the story for a walk, perhaps asking something like : "I wonder what might surface?", let the story flow rather than stopping it dead, I do not say anything that I cannot prove, however, do I want those that might litigate against me to know what my arguments are?
