Jesus Christ......Just let the council sell it to Tesco, Catalyst or some other developers so it really will be “lost forever”. Sick of the whole scenario Oh yeah....And...Come on you Bees!!!

Thanks Colin, interesting times for The Bees.As to WF, it's already lost (virtually) permanently with a 200 year lease being agreed.I am just hoping that WF and the other asset sales come back to seriously bite Bell's Buffoons on the bum before they walk away from the mess they have created.

Many thanks for posting, I wasn't aware of this new campaign, it deserves all the support it can get. Warren Farm has become a vital nature reserve in all but name, it would be a tragedy to loose it now.

What concerns me is how will they get access to the site with the big lorries. Windmill Lane is very narrow now, and with a very narrow pavement which is dangerous now. Between 3 bridges and the M25 flyover. Are they going to upgrade the road so it will be safe for people using the Lane. Other car users, cycles, and pedestrians. Or will it take a death.

If this goes ahead (please God, no) then there will be 'spoil' lorries for months coming up from Gilette Corner or along Tentelow Lane to shift thousands of tons of earth. That is, of course, before construction even starts.

People still banging on about this ad nauseam.This used to be a playing field and will be so again with 30% for local community use .It has only become a"nature reserve" since the place fell into delapidation .It has been through the whole judicial process including a judicial review and finally to the Supreme Court , as to the lorry movements this will be for only a limited time and anyway lorrys using main roads, what ever next ?

I would have preferred that Mrs Thatcher had not acted out of spite and abolished the GLC and then the Inner Education Authority the body which administered school playing fields , including Warren Farm these were handed over to the Boroughs. Ealing gaining Warren Farm , which over the years went into a downward spirals Ealing Council both Labour and Tory administrations didn't have the resources that ILEA once had My playing days were over by then but friends who still played said that you had to leave your clothes in the boot of your car because the changing rooms had been vandalised , if you were lucky your car hadn't been broken into.Further to this couple of years ago I went over to Warren Farm to assist a tipper driver who was picking up horse manure for our allotments , most of the horse s... was were the cricket nets were, speaking to the lady who owned the horses stated that she was glad that the playing fields were going to be looked after because at the moment nefarious types drove onto the land lamping for rabbits breaking down temporary fences. So yes I am pleased that it will again be playing fields . Developers have deep pockets , 62 acres of empty land would not be left very long.

The Conservatives have formed the council ONCE in the last 26 years (2006-2010). What an outstanding performance by the Labour administration(s) in protecting and developing all of our public open spaces.
Their supporters must be so proud.

That touche was for Mr Burke with whom I whole heartedly agree.Where are the Friends of Hanwell when you need them? I mean look, the Wickes development has come to a hault and I'm sure if the pressure could be kept up here it would be a haven for wildlife and need to be kept that way. We could even get a butterfly renamed the Clocktower Moth or something.As for the talk of construction traffic pushing the surrounding area to the edge of a catastrophe nearing nuclear proportions.... I agree! It was the same when Grasshopper and the Sikh school was being done 300 yards up the road... wasn't it... it was.. wasn't it?? Errmmmmmmmmm... well no, it wasn't but lets not let facts get in the way.I personally do not think WF will go ahead under the current ownership of QPR. I actually wish they'd just publicly come out and confirm that to put all this to bed.Then the real problem for SWF etc will start. QPR are novice developers and have gone about this badly and with a softly softly approach. Expect an entirely different approach when St James or another developer pick up the baton. They will promise all sorts of community stuff and retention of areas for nature etc, etc, etc. However you'll have an extra 400 odd residents and the strain that brings in the area.Good luck

The Wickes development has hardly 'come to a halt' with the old building now fully demolished and the rubble being cleared.
The difference with the Nishkam School (just up the road but in Hounslow) was that the school facilities were needed as was the ground released by the relocation of Grasshoppers to provide another school. Both Grasshoppers and Nishkam are already providing community facilities.
I do agree though that a 'competent' developer will walk all over Ealing's officers particularly given their 'lack of judgement' in being paid for to attend the MIPIM conference in Cannes.
I have posted before that altruism is not a quality common among hard-nosed developers and theywho paid will want their 'pound of flesh'.

Conveniently ignoring the proposed community use the QPR proposal has embedded in it.And are you agreeing that there was virtually no subsidiary impact of the Nishkam or Grasshopper developments???The choices are simple - LBE has no interest in maintaing the site for sports etc, they certainly wont say "fair do's we'll let it become a nature oasis"It'll be developed for something and my vote would be a training ground with the open green spaces promised and used by QPR, Brentford, Fulham even Chelscum for Gods sake.The alternative is development of a far more sinister kind.That's it from me

Not ignoring it at all, my objection is not that it is QPR, rather that it gives a multi-million pound commercial organisation a 200 year lease on a peppercorn rent of PUBLIC OPEN SPACE.
It doesn't need to be maintained or developed at all, take down the fences (pop a ditch around it to prevent the 'travellers') and plant some bloody trees on it or whatever. London needs its open spaces.
The only negative 'subsidiary impact' of Nishkam has been to lead LBH to question its positional strategy for placing high schools otherwise, those I know who attend classes there are delighted with the community provision.
Grasshoppers is already used for schools rugby, netball and sports days so no real need for the QPR 'community facilities' (if they ever become reality).
