Much of what happens in the borough goes unreported. For example, there was a suicide in Blondin Park a few weeks ago but nothing has appeared in any local media, including this site. Most websites and (increasingly rare) local papers rely on police press releases for stories. Gone are the days of the crime reporter who would pick up stories from the area well before the police said anything. Similarly there’s no dedicated court reporting now, so we are only told the result of a conviction, which is unlikely to represent the true crime rate in the area.
