Great British County Drives

Which one of these drives would you most enjoy, from Ealing, qqjust for the fun of it?The Chilterns (Henley-on-Thames to Coombe Hill): A tranquil route featuring rolling chalk hills, the River Thames, and quiet country lanes.South Downs (Arundel to the Seven Sisters): This drive offers coastal vistas, chalk cliffs, and historic castle stops within easy reach of the capital.Box Hill Scenic Route: A short, winding drive through Surrey's wooded slopes and panoramic viewpoints.

Driving cars is polluting, anti-social and a danger to right minded cyclists. They should be banned from our roads.

Any relaxing country drive from Ealing would have to be up and around the North West segment into the Chilterns and back rather than crossing London or circling the M25.Ditto when I cycled with the Ealing CTC back whenever, most of our Sunday morning outings found new and interesting ways of exploring byways up and into the Chilterns, with stops at cycle friendly cafes and pubs!  Having said that, Box Hill was an occasional Sunday challenge!

You see Ben, the difference between you and me is that I have a brain, an education and common sense.You started a thread about county drives. Fine, although given your rabid anti car stance everywhere else it’s a strange topic for you to choose.Then you decide to pick an argument with Peter based on someone saying they enjoy driving out in the country. There’s a difference, though it one that’s obvious to someone with as limited an intellect as yours. Driving for fun? Fine in the country, but nobody pootles about in a vehicle in London to enjoy the views. As you well know.It’s a wonder that you still know how to breathe.

Great If you think that everybody thinks like you, and thankfully they don't, it just goes to show why you are so unpleasant. Let's not talk about the supercar meet-ups in Park Lane, Knightsbridge, Sloane Street, and on the A4 shall we?

You are just trying to find something to shoehorn into your hat car narrative.What feeble point are you trying to prove here? You are laughable Ben. A grade A idiot. You don’t even have the capacity to construct a coherent argument, then get the jump when someone calls you out on it.I don’t care what you think of me, and thinking does seem to be a problem for you. Seeing as you asked BO, I will comment.Wasn’t going to waste my time , as like Mr Hayes I reckon you posted to antagonise, clearly having a loathing of cars & motorists.I have written it all before & frankly bored of going over it again, when a few knuckleheads won’t accept it.No one drives for fun.The amount of restrictions, penalties faced by motorists, make journeys a chore.It is not always feasible to walk, cycle or use public transport, something else dismissed.Just to recap ( again), speed is a factor, yellow boxes, bus lanes, ltns, parking restrictions, fuel & insurance costs.No right or left turns, roadworks. Probably more, but off top of my head can’t remember
