It's good to see that Ealing Broadway Station has now got "Calm Soace " pods to relax in when your train is cancelled or delayed it will make things a lot better

I’ve already commented this morning on the Daily Telegraph site that it is ideal for rough sleepers or a terrorist with a bomb. But I would also add it’s ideal as a drug place so don’t be surprised if the floor gets covered with needles. It would be more appropriate if Khan did something about the violence on the Tubes themselves. That would make life calmer.

"Calm spaces", pathetic, what next, we have lost the plot, although the Lefty Liberal Woke Luvvies will, errr, love it.

"It will remain in place until October 2 as part of a trial in partnership with [autism] charities Nook and Autistica asking customers for their feedback."https://www.autistica.org.uk/https://tfl.gov.uk/info-for/media/press-releases/2026/september/tfl-trials-new-calm-space-at-ealing-broadway-station-to-make-the-transport-network-more-accessible-and-inclusiveBut yeah, let's take the p*ss instead.

Look like handy bike storage spots. Maybe they could be repurposed after October, eh Paul?Ensuring the trains run on time would be a bigger stress release than these pods. Overcrowding on stations is usually due to service delays. This is just a bit of virtue signaling from TfL. Autism manifests itself in many different ways. Are they going to cater for every individual need? I doubt it.

It is cold and autistic spectrum for a very good reason. Neurodivergency gas many facets and a three-sided 'box' on the concourse will serve to assuage the anxiety of very few travellers. If TfL was serious about this they would introduce proper quiet spaces . Even then crowded transport he's never going to be an easy problem to solve for the anxiety Laden traveler.

That’s very true Nigel. Overcrowded trains will make any benefit of these pods negligible.
This time without the typos. It is called an autistic spectrum for a very good reason. Neuro divergence has many facets and a three-sided 'box' on the concourse will serve to assuage the anxiety of very few travellers. If TfL was serious about this they would introduce proper quiet spaces . Even then, crowded transport he's never going to be an easy problem to solve for the anxiety laden traveler.
Seems nowadays the world and his wife claim to be 'on the spectrum' or to have some other mental or behavioural condition.

The very slightest aberration is now enough to get you included on the spectrum if you push hard enough, it makes it increasingly difficult for those who have wide ranging and genuine disabilities to actually get the help that they need.

These "Pods" were undoubtedly designed by the same Tosspot Mindset as the genius who gave us the parking bay "Parklets" or whatever they're called. If Reform ever gain power I REALLY look forward to and hope that all this Lefty Liberal Woke Idiocy is kicked firmly into touch and that funds will be wisely and well spent on what actually matters.
