All we have been given is over Local Government back and the chance to win the Olympics - both welcome but small beer compared to the investment outside the capital".- I'd love to experience that parallel universe you're evidently from - where the country's transport investment budget isn't nearly all earmarked for Xrail, Thameslink, London's international rail and air links, heavily subsidised regulated London bus services all run with new buses, etc etc etc, and where desperately needed major improvements to Birmingham New Street station, the hopeless Leeds bottleneck etc etc are not persistenly denied funding. And 'filthy hospitals' result from bad management, not lack of funding.
