The Management of the Nations Finances , The Management of Planning in House Building, The Management of an Immigration Policy,The Management of our beloved NHS---I am sure a number of other issues would strike the population as leaving things to the last minute before any Action is taken to prevent a Crisis in the UK.Why do they wait for a Crisis before the Government acts. Can you name the next Crisis waiting to happen ? OR name an action now being taken to prevent something that is bound to get towards a Crisis?

I was in Morrison's this morning and caged eggs were 96 p half a dozen.Considerably cheaper than the free range ones I bought(mostly out of principle)...am I just being soft and does anyone else consider the lives of the animals that serve us and that keep us alive?

There seems a significant fire at the moment with a helicopter and many appliances over Southall way.Eaing side of the Gasometer and north of Norwood Green.. maybe around the Station area..and those Industrial Estates.Black smoke plume looking horrid was passing over the M4 and probably no danger to traffic. Flames can been seen from far away.Just to let you know..oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooStop Press: Seems possibly under reasonable control now. But maybe somr roads are closed..

Has anyone else noticed how bad the regularity of buses has become? I use this bus most days and I am often waiting for 30 mins for one to turn up. I mentioned this to my wife and she has noticed a sharp decline in its service in the past six months. Anyone else noticed a problem? I'm genuinely interested if anyone else has noticed before I complain, to avoid looking like a cantankerous old git.

This week the 65 service from Ealing Broadway has been nothing short of appalling.Very long waits, buses so full people are sitting on the stairs and upper deck floors.For some inexplicable reason, it takes TfL 14 days to explain what is wrong.If they are that slow they may as well not bother. How can they action anything with that sort of useless delay?But does anyone know why the route has become so delated and so horribly overcrowded of late?

I had a visit this morning from the West London Delivery Manager for TNT Post to talk to me about our many complaints. He said the complaints had been "escalated" to him in the past week, but I pointed out that our residents' association had been complaining without any resolution since last November.He agreed that there was no reason why the mail delivered in our area (Ealing Common) had been folded unnecessarily and/or not pushed right through the letter slots. He said he would be talking to the team leaders and insisting that they made sure the "delivery operatives" (what we know as postmen or postwomen) were properly aware of their responsibilities. He was particularly concerned about mail from NHS trusts/hospitals taking so long to be delivered and asked that in future the envelopes of delayed mail be kept so that TNT Post could track them back.When I mentioned the complaints from elsewhere in the borough -- particularly about the "operatives" riding their bikes at speed on footpaths and leaving their bikes and mail unattended, he said this had not been brought to his attention. He said it was unacceptable and he would also raise that with team leaders.

I can't help feeling that we're making too much fuss over the horsemeat question. There are infinitely more worrying events happening everyday all around us like benefits fraud, Afghan war, being struck by meteor debris, the financial crisis, the cold weather and dozens of other worries. Who's worried about a little bit of pony-on-a-plate?

My story goes into Ealing gazette soon and I really hope it jogs someone's memory way back in the days of 1969.. I'm searching so hard to find my dad christos who worked in the wimpy ( lido junct) as a chef in 1969. He had an older brother too. They played cards in a Greek club. He would have been 24 years old then... They also did some casual driving .... Thought I would follow the lead of our friend Bev and ask for any help locating an old friend of mine. His name is Robert (Rob) McGee he would be around 59 yrs went to Brentside sm. Then went on to join the Met Police and later into security at Rowse’s, he has as far as I know 2 daughters and still lives in Ealing. His parents lived in Cavandish Ave W13 .
