Ring scam

Don't think it was the same man but as I came out of the Chiswick Oxfam bookshop I was stopped by a man showing me a 'gold' ring and saying he had found it. As mine is loose I quickly checked it was still on my finger and said it's not mine and walked on - didn't look at him too carefully but failry sure not the one described in the other report - perhaps it is a scam going round

120,000 extra flights a year at Heathrow

Frightening article in the Independent about increasing  the number of flights through Heathrow by a quarter (25 percent): It writes:"Heathrow's capacity problems could be solved without the need for a new runway, as strict rules on take-offs and landings are eased from next month.The "silver bullet" solution to the airport's congestion crisis could unlock up to 25 per cent more slots with no extra building. Introducing so-called "mixed mode" flying – under which runways are used for both take-offs and landings at the same time – could allow 120,000 extra aircraft movements each year at Europe's busiest airport.This would call into question the need for either a third runway or an entirely new airport in the Thames Estuary. New rules coming into force on 1 July will increase the number of circumstances in which simultaneous runway use is permitted. Heathrow says this will not for now lead to a net increase in slots, but it is under pressure from the airline industry to extend the scheme to allow more take-offs and landings. The fact that the Department for Transport has agreed to tinker with long-standing rules against "mixed mode" indicates they may be willing to overrule local residents' objections.

Only 22 Police Custody Cells in Ealing

Stephen Pound MP pointed out in The House of Commons this week that as a result of Police cuts we have just 22 Custody Cells in the whole of Ealing. That's covering a built up area of 21 square miles with an official population of 320,000 people. I am no law and order expert but this does seem to be rather a small number of cells. What do others think?

Taliban The Scourge of Pakistan.

The Young Pakistani girl who dared to ask, that All pakistani girls have the opportunity to Education , is being flown to a Birmingham Hospital today. Her Name is Malala. I am concerned that protection for her safety  will be necessary. The military Hospital in Pakistan where she was being treated appears to be inadequate for her continued protection. Will she find that protection here?. The obliteration of the Talibani radicals should be the first Priority of Pakistan. They cannot carry this millstone around their necks forever.Who will dare to speak up next?

Who did eight armed police arrest in South Ealing on Friday?

Residents in South Ealing on the South Ealing Road by the Popes Lane crossroads were stunned on Friday at lunchtime when eight armed police scooped up and arrested a man on the South Ealing Road. When asked by a local resident what was going on, the resident was told that "You do not need to know". What was this all about? Anyone have an idea?

How do you find out who owns private garages?

There are 2 privately owned garages on the next road to me that are very poorly maintained and I have never ever seen anyone use them. The reason why I ask is that the front of the garages have become a dumping ground for mattresses, sofas and all sorts of awful rubbish and I'm sick of reporting it to the council - btw no one else who lives on that road ever thinks of doing anything!  I also think that these could be easily sold to people nearby who can then renovate and actually use them!Thanks

Is this True or False  ?

I can truthfully say that when I go a Post office I observe that the staff are almost all Asian. So are the people serving in the Big Department stores eg ---Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda, Morrison etc....It is the same at Petrol Stations,and to a lessre extent in Councils and Government Office. The NHS too is largely staffed by Asian Immigrants . To raise this question almost always, is linked with accusations of prejudice being aimed at Immgrants. To ask Why a particular community of foreign nationals belong to just a particular group is met with a barrage of Do- Gooders commenting. So what happened to the Nationals of England who are replaced?. Why have they become marginalised and by whom? Fact is the question is about IMMGRATION POLICIES not the Immigrant.The Radicals among the Immigrants are the ones who bring distaste of those living here .The DO- Gooders are resposible for the present state of affairs.

Approx 40 cardboard boxes for removals for sale

HiWe have approximately 40 cardboard boxes for sale. Having just moved house, we purchased a variety of boxes for removals. They are a mixture of sizes: 18x12x12 inch, 16x16x16 inch, some larger boxes for light things and a mixture of random sizes including wine boxes. All are in good condition with many only used once. Less than £1 per box!For collection from South Ealing at evenings and weekendsThanks!
