Telecommunication Problems

Has anyone been having problems with his/her telephony and/or broadband in the last fortnight ?Last week, I didn't have any dialtone on my phone for 6 days.Now, since Friday, I have had no broadband....My neighbour has had problems too - same problems but at different times - strange - same cables !!!I have rang my ISP and 'phone provider and so has my neighbour and all seems ok at their end - still not convinced...Anything happening at the exchange end ?

Could it be something to do with your Loft conversion people Joanna? Builders have a nasty habit of cutting all sorts of cables etc.

Funny you should say that, I actually re-wired my telecomms set-up myself. It worked perfectly then suddenly everything went down. After doing all of the preliminary checks including checking if the cable outside had a signal - nada/zilch/null.I checked with neighbours, a few (bar from cable customers) had problems.I called out my ISP (Bulldog/Pipex), they denied all knowledge, then after pressing them for more assistance, they finally got their engineer out. (S)he couldn't find anything. Then they called a BT engineer out. (S)he still couldn't find a problem. I told them it might be the port at the exchange. They dismissed that idea.Then they ring me to tell me that it's the faulty port - alleluja ! So they will exchange it...Now I have my phone line back but still no internet....currently using my 3G phone as a modem...So I am going to be on the phone again to them tomorrow morning...what a wrangle !!Anyone having problems in the Central/West Ealing area ?
