Fun Day on Northfields This Saturday

Once again NABTA is hosting a Fun Day on Northfields Avenue this Saturday afternoon from 12 noon onwards. Local shops, cafes, restaurants and businesses have combined to stage a great afternoon of fun and entertainment for the whole family. There'll be music, carols, street performers, face painting, food tasting - and Santa - along with loads of fun events for kids. Lots of shops are organising in-store happenings and competitions. This is the third of NABTA's Fun Days, and we're hoping for your support! Everyone's invited!

Sounds like you should be there Gerry. Start off with a Mega Breakfast and take it from there!!

I hope that Northfields, unlike Pitshanger lane, is not closed off for seasonal festivities.

Excellent!  We'll be there this Saturday, with our family and others. Well done NABTA - Nothfirlds is a great place to shop and visit. Also, so pleased that there are many more bicycle stands and 'Stop'n Shop' bays throughout the whole length of Northfield Ave. A few shops and other buildings need a facelift - any chance of NABTA putting a bit of diplomatic pressure on the owners to smarten up the few? Also, one or two should sweep up and tidy their adjacent pavements. Apart from that, NA is a delightful shopping area.

There are no plans to close the Avenue. It would be totally unrealistic to even think of replicating Pitshangar's Light Up The Lane event in Northfields. Their event is not only sponsored by local business, but it also has the enthusiastic participation of residents associations and other bodies. Our NABTA Fun Day is entirely different in character. It's organised by traders alone, and while  we'd certainly like to light the entire Avenue, we've carried out extensive research into the logistics and costs and the results show that it simply isn't practical. Let's hope the sun shines on Saturday, and that we attract the same sort of crowds we saw at our Summer Fun Day in June. Northfields has an awful lot to offer the local community, and we're hoping to draw attention to this fact. As well as help raise money for The Log Cabin of course!
