What's worse than a cold, dark morning?

A cold, dark morning with a radio telling of England playing rubbish cricket for two winters in a row. Shoud I bother to fill in my application for 2008 Lords tickets?

A cold, dark morning with RAIN!Or with day old snow that has turned to ice......both great for the school run, I don't want to get out of bed!

No, I'm throwing my lot in with Graham on this. No amount of weather is worse than our National Cricket Team. How about starting a No.10 Petition thingy to try and get their passports taken away?

Chin up Graham! I'm sure you've seen more England batting collapses than I have - remember when we were bowled out for 46 by Curtley Ambrose and co in Trinidad in 1994? The lows make the triumphs that much sweeter.Besides, there's nothing more English than a rearguard action facing overwhelming odds with a stiff upper lip and the Dunkirk spirit. In cricketing terms this equates to having to bat for 2 days to save a game, praying for some sort of unseasonal monsoon miracle. One of my favourite cricketing memories is Mike Atherton and Jack Russell batting to avoid almost certain defeat against South Africa in 1995.So make yourself a nice cup of team and fill in your Lord's ticket application today!

Worse than a cold, dark morning? Perhaps a cold, dark day! Nights are always dark, but not always cold.Cheer up! The sun sets one minute later tomorrow, Friday, at 15:54 although it rises one minute later 08:04 than to today. This info was gleaned from the BBC website, if one can believe anything the BBC says nowadays.

Yes, it's the Winter Soltice tomorrow so it should get better after 21st (& it's my youngest childs birthday too).

I tell you what's better than a cold dark morning in England: a rainy day in Sri Lanka! Only one more day to survive Murali and co....
