Recycling your Real Christmas Tree

The list of temporary collection points set up by LBE are on the front page. They cannot be collected with the weekly garden waste.  The info just says 'during January'.Here is an alternative http://www.kew.org/events/winter-2007/green/recycle-trees.html (tree recycling until 7 January - voucher 2 for 1 to the gardens valid until 31 January - read the link for more info)

ThanksThe problem some of us have in disposing of our trees is the fact that Polish folk (such as moi) keep our trees up 'til the Feast of St. Mary (2nd Feb)...A few years ago, I ended up missing the end of the January recycling facility and had to chop up the tree (into 10 inch pieces) and put it in the normal recycling waste.

Then why on earth don't the Council just extend it by a week!

Interesting that Manchester appear to have recycled an awful lot IN December.  How many people take their trees down before New Year?http://www.letsrecycle.com/do/ecco.py/view_item?listid=37&listcatid=217&listitemid=9559

The British tradition is for decorations to be taken down on the twelfth night (Jan 5th-6th Epiphany) and should be adhered to at all costs as its seen by many to be bad luck after this date!

That's a British tradition......I am a British Pole so I have the best of both worlds starting from the native folk put up trees and decoration in early December 'til end of my Christmas period (2nd Feb) - Christmas for two months - bliss - I love Christmas....
