Getting rid of my Christmas tree

Hi Alldoes anybody know where I can dispose of my Christmas tree?  I live in Northfields. As an aside - I tried to check on the Ealing Council website but it was down - the second time I have found this happening at the weekend.  Maybe the YTS boy who did IT has gone back to college?

The council do their site upgrades at the weekend. For some reason they think that people only use the site during the week.

And to think most people believe the council is only a 9-5, Mon-Fri outfit.

The Christmas tree recycling points are by one of the entrances to the local park, in this case Lammas Park, but I don't know which one. Maybe Gerry can help?

I would imagine the Northfields Christmas tree dump is at the entrance to Lanmas Park in Northfield Ave. I've just gotten rid of all our Christmas paraphernalia - tree included - and dumped the tree in Walpole Park(Lammas Park Gdns entrance), where ther'e a mountain of old trees almost blocking the path! I've now got pine needles down my shirt front and it don't half itch. :-(

Depends where you are in Northfields - we are at the top end ( near Threshers) and walked ours down to Elthorne Park, the recycling point is right next to the gates.....

Oh, on the front page of this site it lists all the recyling points - under the heading Treecycling etc.

-  I am very happy that the Council is updating its website.-  I look forward to it being easier to navigate and even more useful to residents.-  I too tried recently to use it and couldn't.  I tried to order new green boxes having given away mine to neighbours.  It is very frustrating when you can't get through but I have managed to now.-  Have you seen the new facility to report various things to the Council on it?-  There is also a request for website feedback.-  It would be interesting to see how many people are visiting the site - just as you can with this site.-  I would like to have seen info about Christmas Tree Recycling earlier and more of it.  It is now on the local notice boards and in January's Around Ealing magazine. The coverage on the front page of this website is good. Was this the Council or the Editor?

Bit of both! Informative stuff came in a press release from the council and I added an intro! Thanks, Ed

Well done Ed !

Thank you Charlie.  Did you see the Christmas Tree mountain at Walpole Park (Lammas Pk Gdns) entrance?  Quite something and it smelt lovely. I hope Gerry is less prickly now :-)!

Did we have a tree from Norway in Trafalgar Square this year? Or has that traditional gift passed into History?
