can I get a cracked watch face repaired nr Ealing Broadway?

Dunno how it happened - no stones fell on it in Petra - but I have returned home with a cracked watch face. I'd rather not send it away and the chains don't seem to have their own craftsmen on site. As I have to come into Ealing today - to renew CPZ permits, oh joy - where can I take a rather good watch for reconstructive surgery?

Obviously not from the deafening silence

I've used Goldsmiths at 79A The Mall for watch repairs but they did send the watch away.  There is another well known jewellers in the Broadway centre. How about the shop opposite Munson's?Is it really much quicker queueing at the Council Offices for parking permits first thing in the morning ie less than 2/3 hours?

Haven;t found anywhere in Ealing Broadway but the jeweeler in south Ealing Road is pretty good and you can park outside for free for half an hour. Opposite the flats and diaginally opposite the Co-op.

I agree I have used this jeweller too.

No deafening silence from moi. I agree about the little jeweller/watch repairer in Sth Ealing Road.

Went to a chain who said 3 -4 weeks and £69- gasped and will try your suggestionsThe parking was a theoretical hour's wait but I don't do queues - not when I have forgotten to bring a book anyhow - so I stropped a bit, got them to accept the application, paid the dosh, retrieved the gas bill/bank statement original and was out in twenty minutes...they'll post the permit this afternoon. She was only gossiping to security so I didn't really queue jump. Hadn't been to the totally misnamed "customer service centre" before. A vision of hell. Will do a lot not to go back. One man had been there two hours for a parking permit. That just lets the bureaucrats think it's an acceptable way to treat the public. It's not.

They (little jeweller S. ealing:) didnt manage to do mine and suggested next best step was to buy a new one!  Alas I LIKE the watch so am. doomed to wander with cracked glass face!

Have you tried Oscars in Northfields Avenue? It is a pet shop with a sideline in mending watches! He has been great for me in the past.

I second Oscars in Northfield Avenue.  On the phone? The family have been horolgists for over 100 years..I recall the chap telling me..whilst pointing at the header board.

I called Raymond Weil - the makers - who have sent me packaging and reckon they can do it in ten days - which seems more like it.
