Burns Night Supper at the Log Cabin

The Log Cabin, a local charity which provides adventure play and respite care for children with special needs, is holding its regular Burns Night Supper on Saturday 26 January (7.30 for 8 pm). This is a fundraising event that has been going for some years, is great fun, a really jolly occasion, and usually gets booked up very quickly. This year bookings seem to a be a bit slower for some reason, so I thought I would use the Forum to spread the word. The supper takes place at the Log Cabin which is behind Northfields Library. It costs £27 per person for which you get five courses and coffee, plus a welcome drink and a dram to toast the haggis. There will also be a bar. This Burns Nicht sounds like a lot of fun. Are there going to be speeches to our beloved bard, the haggis and to the Lovely Ladies present at the supper and a piper to announce the entry of "the chieftain o' the pudding race"? We're thinking of going.  ;-)

Hi GerryYes, we always have the speeches. Unfortunately we haven't been able to get hold of a real live piper for a few years now and have had to make do with the electronic variety - they are understandably much in demand around this time. However, depending on our guests state of inebriation at that point, they have been known to provide a passable imitation ....
