Corgi gas engineer

Our Potterton boiler keeps cutting out and we need an engineer to look at it. We don't know anyone. Any recommendations anyone? Potterton wanted £299 to come out !

Next question.The temperature control knob - is it grey or black?If grey, is the word RESET beside or on the reset button?The reason I ask is that I have a redundant, but working PCB, for the Suprima 30 to 100 range. This is because recently our boiler PCB and mounting was completely replaced. Most of the lockout problems are due to a faulty board. This board will only fit the grey knobbed, RESET on the reset button version, though.The board, new, is about £180 - £200 from a gas spares supplier, plus fitting!A refurbished part can be got from eBay for much less, mine was £44. Fitting is very simple. A few crosshead screws to undo and pulling off connectors and the reverse.

Just ring Bob Nice and he will sort you out have used him for about 25 years give or take a day or two, he is listed as R J Nice central heating engineer. corgi and squidly dot, I can't be bothered to go further if he has done me proud for all those years go and use a cowboy.
