Empty shops South Ealing Road

I have just been in to Tony's Autos for some new windscreen wipers (so I can see where I am driving) and asked him why the 4/5 shops along from him were empty - he said the guy that owned them was so rich he just let the flats over and couldn't be bothered with shops.  This just seems awful to me and the nets are to die for!! Does anyone know any more about this situation?

I am Manuel who knows naaaaawthing.I do though wonder why prime sites remain closed. A corner plot on Bilton Road has been shut two years and near where I work on Finchley High Road one has been derelict for 8 years. Why does it happen?

I've always thought that it was odd. Years ago one of them used to be a pet shop with a talking minah bird. I often wonderd if they were now a terrorist cell ! Too many episodes of Spooks.
