Should MP's be "Bugged" ???
With reference to today's news regarding accusations that an MP was "bugged" when he went to meet one of his constituents. We have more CCTV cameras than most other places, yet they can't catch criminals! In today's society when we are all susceptable to having our telephone convesations listened to. Our personal details are known to far too many people, and some of these records lost into the bargain when security companies misplace laptops and so on. In the past the banks have been accused of leaving details of account holders in rubbish bags(not shreaded). We can't withdraw much money from the Bank without providing passports, driving licence and so on. If one wishes to deposit money in the Bank they want to know where it came from! The crooks and con men will always find a way around all of the above, it's the ordinary citizen who is inconvenienced! When our personal details on can be scrutinised by a great number of bodies, why, therefore, should the MP's be exempt from scrutiny?I don't think I would put much trust in many MP's today! They need to be more transparent and, needless to say.....more HONEST!Jean
