Regarding brown and sticky (sounds like the government) roads there must be some ghastly roads in the borough I haven't seen. Obviously my observations are limited to my own experience.Perhaps it would be better to apply a system of triage to the roads, ie: Those that are in good nick, leave alone. Those which are in reasonable repair, fix before they get worse. Those in bad condition, wait until every utility has had a go at them or until money is available to fix them.Perhaps covering potholes with speed humps is a solution.Another trick would be to give the mayorial conveyance sports suspension and really low-profile tyres. That should jolt one or two people into action!
