Gong Xi Fa Cai

Here's wishing everyone on EalingToday a very happy Chinese New Year, which is the Year Of The Rat and begins tomorrow Thursday 7th February. The traditional Chinese greeting is to wish you health, wealth and happiness.  So to all, I say Gong Xi Fa Cai, which is Mandarin, but if you'd prefer the greeting in Cantonese, it's Kung Hei Fat Choy!  Have fun folks!  ;-)

Coincidentally, I've just had an email from my elder sister who lives in Singfapore, telling me that she's just had all her family(some 25 of them) round to her condo for a CNY BBQ - she gave 'em sea food ho fun, bowls of piping hot Malaysian laksa(hot in both senses), lashings of crab cheung fun(a kinda lasagne) and almond cold sweet bean curd and moon cakes for puds! Wish I'd been there for a delightful family get-together. I'll have to wait 'til July, when I'll be hitting the Singapore food courts with enthusiastic intent! Hi Gerry, I think one of us was born in the year of the Horse and the other in the year of the Monkey (can't remember which one referred to myself or Jean).Hope you had a great celebration by the way.
