Electic Power Cut

At eleven pm last night, The north side of Elthorne Avenue and I imagine Manton Avenue was plunged (note the tabloid verb) into darkness with a power cut. When trying to notify the electrical services, my call was "held in queue" so I assumed others were on before me. There is no information of how many are in the queue. Connection came back an hour later. Does anyone know what caused it?

Robert, it may be wider than first thought as I heard today of another road out near Hanwell station.

I had friends in Cambridge Road call me to say their power was out (in the middle of a supper party - it sounded like they were having fun in the dark though!)and my son, who lives just off Elthorne Park Rd was in the dark too - so it must have covered quite a wide area.
