Barack or Hilary?

My money's on Barack.  If anyone is going to come up with fresh ideas, he can.  Barack vs McGain will be far more interesting than Clinton vs McCain.  And I can't stand Bill clinton.  What do others think?

Dunno what to think of the American Presidential elections. Mr Barack Obama is a very new bloke round the Washington block - only heard about him in the last couple of months. He seems a nice boy though. Mrs Hilary Clinton deserves a medal for putting up with an errant husband - she sure stood by her man, so warrants our respect and she's an experienced woman around the Washington village. Being an old fashioned thinking bloke, I warm to Mr John McCain - he's got most of the values I admire - but I still dunno much about any of them. My concern is much more local and what's gonna happen in my new EalingCentral and Acton patch. But if you're really asking my humble opinion, I think America and therefore the world would be a better place if an old hand like the amiable Mr McCain took over. Be interesting to see who makes it.

My  Republican friends favour a McCain/Huckerby ticket against Clinton. She has more baggage so will be easier to beat than Obama.

I think America's future will only be safe and secure in the hands of republicans, therefore I would like Clinton to win the nomination and go on to lose the presidential election which will then result in a new administration lead by Mr McCain.

McCain's personality reminds me so much of Ronald Reagan, I guess thats why I warm to him so much.Reagan's legacy is also proof that John McCain is never too old to run for president.

Personally I care as much about Americas politicians as they care about ours.Its just a good excuse for our media to waste our licence fee and go off on a freebie to the states.

After the final votes are cast and the result known, much would depend on any endorsement of the winner by the defeated candidate. In the Republican case it would appear that McCain is a clear winner anyway at least at the moment.However on the Democratic side a failure to endorse might play into Republican hands on a split vote scenario when the actual Presidential Election takes place in November.

Tony, that sounds a bit dodgy to me - Mr Barack Obama sounds a bit like our esteemed Mr Kenneth Livingstone in that he's seen to be covorting with Hamas and Hezbollah types(whatever they are!).

My first name is really Czeslawa but when I started school I was asked how to spell it and being just 5 years old and coming to school to learn how to spell I couldn't, so my parents went for my middle name, Barbara.  Should have stuck with Czeslawa - why make it easy for teachers!

I dont think I'm a Babs sort of person.  I dont really like the name Barbara.  I'd like to have been called Poppy or Susan - my life would have been completely different.  Barack is a good name for a politician, it sounds strong.  What about a feminine version like Baracka.  Baracka Yerolemou?  What do you think?  Possible?
