The audience, close to two hundred, heard from Cllr Ian Potts that the proposed expansion would be like adding Gatwick to Heathrow. Margaret Majumdar demolished the Dft`s reasoning for leaving Ealing residents out of the consultation process by using good local knowledge of current noise levels. John Stewart of Hacan was masterly with his in-depth knowledge. There was also a consensus not only against the increase in flights but also in realisation of congestion to roads and railways due to the huge increase in passenger numbers. Cllr Elliott ably chaired the meeting.Tessa, Thanks for the link which was a surprisingly in-depth financial appraisal of the B.A.A., and revealed their internal problems.
