Daylight saving time during WW1,Gerry. In fact Double Summertime was introduced during the WW2 period. The plan now is to retain BST and add one hour between May to August. Personnally I like light evenings, as opposed to the opinions of those I jocularly (I stress jocular in case some sensitive soul takes offence)term as 'Tweeded Muffin Munchers,' who seem to want it to be dark at 4pm in the middle of June if they could work it!!If our Scottish friends don't like it they can have their own time zone, it works in the USA, why not here, I 'm sure Mr Salmond would welcome it as further proof of independance.
