Gerry,The poll will be interesting. However Boris Johnson will need a good lead in the first round because Sian Berry, the Green Party candidate, has asked for her supporters to give their second preferences to Mr Livingstone. As she is likely to be eliminated early on, that will giove Mr Livingstone a big boost.Although the Lib Dem candidate, Commander Brian Paddick, is doing very badly, some of his second preferences may also go to Mr Livingstone. However I expect that Lib Dems votes in areas such as Ealing, Richmond and Twickenham are more likely to vote for Mr Johnson than Mr Livingstone.Nationally the opinion polls indicate that the Conservatives are now on 43% support, that Labour is on 29% and that the Lib Dems are on 17%.However Mr Livingstone is probably more popular in London than the Labour Party he represents. But there again Boris Johnson is attracting many people who normally would vote Lib Dem or Labour or not vote at all. He is doing well amongst young people in particular.
