I think Ken was gracious in defeat, which is more than can be said for some of his supporters, including the Daily Mirror. Both candidates made good speeches in the end, and I was glad to see Boris indicating to Brian Paddick that he was willing to listen to what he had to say regarding crime. This after all is what civilised discussion should be about. Even Ken indicated his willingness to help. Maybe I was wrong, but did I detect a bit of a move towards consensus over at least some issues? If that is the case, then maybe we might see some commonsense breaking out, we shall see.
