Dawn chorus

At 4.45am this morning, I spent half an hour sitting in our garden, with a mug of tea, listening to a delightful dawn chorus. the dawn was just breaking through and the weather was warm(ish), dry and windless. The birds' chorus was very sonorous and varied - sounded like at least half a dozen birds, matbe more.  Is this the season for dawn choruses or is it to do with mating or something? Delightful!   ;-)

I am up early these days and out in the garden where I am free to smoke my pipe while I read or surf the net. There are two noises. The birds and the traffic. The bank holiday was the best. Next to no traffic noise and lots of bird song. I love summer hours of daylight and warmth.

4.45am!!! Good grief Gerry!!I was sound asleep dreaming of walking in the Paradise Garden (Delius) with Felicity Kendal or was it Jean Simmons?? The birds sing all day and night there. Cue music, Nightingale sang in Berkley Square?? Perhaps not!
