Hanwell Carnival & Show 2008

Its a locally organised and run event for the community (mainly for the local, but not exculsively).over 5,000 people turn up and no entrance fee (unlike The Greenford Carnival).Activities includes:• Arena with performances (Dancers, displays, music etc..)• Beer Tent• Carnival Procession (from Hanwell Community Centre to Elthorne Park)• Carnival Queen & Princess• Craft Fair• Dog Show• Fun Fair (charges)• Local Chairty Stalls (fundriaser)• Music Stage (for all ages & types of music)The new Mayor of Ealing and Steve Pound MP will be openning the carnival.Carnival Procession starts 11.30 at Hanwell Community Centre progessing to Elthorn Park until 6pm.Its open to all specially the family!be part of the fun and community join in and help on the day!Contact Jim 020-8280-2233 / jim_wong@hotmail.com

Just presented certificates to students at Hobayne Primary in Greenford Avenue for entering the Official Porgramme Competition.The winning desgin will be on the front cover.

Went to the Rickmansworth Show yesterday and was delighted to see a crockery smashing stall. We used to have one at the Hanwell Carnival - always very popular - but hasn't been there for years I thought perhaps that Health & Safety had banned that sort of sideshow. Would love to see it back again.

I don't know if there is a stall doing this, but that is a good idea for a stall to do, rather than the usual tumbolas and raffles.There will be a number of local charity stalls there to raise much needed funds for their organisations.Be part of it or support them by attending.

There are a number prizes for the Offical Programme, due out next week initally for local charities to sell and raise money. What weather?It was a fantastic day with Westside Radio as edia partners and Main Arena Host.Young rock bank finally got their gear sorted and showed their senior peers how to play "rock" music.Who up for next year??www.hanewellcarnival.org.uk
