Most of the price is still tax, and tax on tax i.e, VAT on duty.Can one find out where petrol retailers source their product? I should like to buy North Sea not Middle Eastern oil.

Is North Sea oil suitable for refining to get petrol?I am reminded of a letter sent to North Thames Gas in the late 1960s.A woman (who else?) wrote to customer services enquiring on the change-over from town gas to North Sea gas whether she should use less salt in her cooking!!!
