Angus Peterson, an injection of humour.

Don't know what the rest of the Forum thinks , but Angus's contributions fit in well with Genial Ealing. A sudden injection of 'Toung in Cheek' humour. Don't go away Angus, but maybe some of the other Forums, members of who, have a perchant to take themselves too seriously could do with your contributions.

He's a troll, Colin, making silly comments to provoke a response. Possibly everybody moves away from him in the local pub.  I much prefer lively debate and discussion with lots of differing opinions.  I have learned a great deal from this forum and the Chiswick one, all about trams, trolley buses, good restaurants, services, and lots of interesting gems about the history of Ealing and indeed the history of other parts of the UK; and also how different peoples values are on everything from child rearing to politics and green themes.  Great fun.

Maybe its a matter of 'balance' Sheila, so don't overdo it Angus. Brings me on to another point though that you don't get the full picture of what motivates people unless you talk to them face to face. Maybe when the Forum can be more like a Video Conference, then we will be able to judge people for what they really are.Oh dear, that might preclude many from taking part, nowhere to hide one's true motivation.

I'm sure I would like you just the way you are Penny, it would be part of life's rich pattern. Do you mean that if you lived next door to me, you would have to spruce yourself up before talking to me on a bright sunny day over the garden fence?

Angus - a typical troll response!  I wonder what your real name is. The forums of Brentford and Chiswick regularly get trolls posting under fake names, but it is not so usual on the Ealing forum.

Or we could have a wardrobe of wigs and outfits and adopt a different persona every day, impersonating our favourite tv and film stars - our work colleagues might think us a bit strange, though!

I pop in from time to time - so haven't clocked the Angus thingy yet - but I agree with Sheila about learning things - I have had several knowledgeable conversations with a neighbour about the cranberry bogs on Nantucket - and how they pick the berries!From Nantucket sandstorm Dan ONeill - 1.11.05  23:16"Following on about the houses here, I snapped these today as I took my plane over to Hyannis to deliver a model. You can see the cranberry bogs in the first picture. The berries are picked by flooding the bogs with seawater, and as the water rises, the berries float off the bushes. Quite spectacular to see a lake completely red with berries. They were picked a month ago so the flood water is still there. The second picture shows the town. Quite a few houses as you can see. Hard to imagine that 95% of those houses are empty for 9 months of the year"
