Energy prices

I'm sure I'm not the only one to have just got the most enormous gas and electricity prices EVER!  I know prices have risen but does anyone know who the cheapest supplier is in W13? I am with npower for both and have just phoned them threatening to go elsewhere. They put the unit price down for electricity just like that!

I also live in W13 and am in the process of switching from Scottish Power to British Gas.  By far the easiest way to find the cheapest supplier is to use one of the price comparison sites.  I used www.energyhelpline.com.  I also found the best way to compare was to know exactly how many kilowatt hours (kwh) we use in a year so I worked this out from my last year's bills.Good luck.

We had a lot of problems with British Gas, not only are they SO expensive but slow to rectify errors. It took them 14 months just to successfully set up a direct debit due to their own incompetence.They promise to ring back if one has a query about the account, we are STILL waiting for a call from one of their staff who promised faithfilly to get back to us directly after EASTER!Well enough of that - we are leaving British Gas, can't be bothered to try and get good customer service.Unfortunately we will still have their Homecare 400 to cover breakdowns. I am not sure what other company would co this sort of service.The British Gas fitters actually broke the coals on our new Gas Fire, they had to replace them.I will only permit a Troubleshooter from British Gas to service the Central Heating because their fitters have no idea how to open the gas fire which also has a back boiler.The surround on the fire is still bent slightly where they tried to force it open.I would not advise anyone to move to British Gas after the bad experience we had from them.

For things like this, I've found the Money Saving Expert website to be a great resource of locations to find the cheapesthttp://www.moneysavingexpert.comFrom the advice in the above, I've recently used Energy Helpline to find that E-On would offer me the cheapest capped energy rate - given the recent news stories saying that prices are about to go through the roof, I thought a capped tariff maybe the best option for the time being (plus if you're signed upto quidco.com, by switching to E-on, I'm also in line to get £55 cash-back!)http://www.energyhelpline.com
