Sexy football

It's great to see some good sexy football again - as played by Holland, Portugal, Spain and those formidable Croatians. So glad Mr Steve McClaren didn't make it to Euro2008 and so sad to see France's exit.I fancy the Dutchmen to do the business in the Final - and wouldn't it be great if they met and marmalised Germany in the Final? Total sexy football's the name of the game these days! A delight to watch!  ;-)

I agree Gerry. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the attractive flowing football in the group stages, particularly from the Dutch. However, now that we're into the knockout stages I fear that the typical teams playing gritty defensive football will come to the fore. I predict that Italy will beat Germany in the final and that it will go to penalties after a dull 1-1 draw. I hope I'm wrong!

Who's going to win?At the start, I tipped France to win. Just shows how little I know about football.  Now I'm going for Spain - anyone but the Germans.  Ballacks to the Germans!

I was impressed by the Russkies. I don't mind if they win instead of Spain, as long as their sexy football contains plenty of peristroika and gallons of glasnost.

See Gerry, I was right about the Germans. They always seem to get through even when they aren't playing very well. The English could learn a thing or two from them about "winning ugly".

Yes James, how right you are, the Germans did it again. I was rooting for Turkey, those plucky little men from sunny Anatolia. Wish I could have been in Ealing Mangal, that excellent Turkish retaurant opposite Daniels in West Ealing, on the nights they defied all odds and became "The ComeBack kids" of Euro2008 - the atmosphere in Ealing Mangal would have been terrific! How exciting - can't wait for tonite's Spain v. Russia match.  :-o)

The young Turks were very unlucky last night. Remember, not all of them are from Anatolia - Colin Kazim-Richards (or Kâzım Kâzım as he is known in Turkey) is from Walthamstow.Unfortunately I will miss the Spain v Russia game as I'm flying to Dublin - it should be a cracker! Fern & Dave up against man of the moment, Andrei Arshavin. I can't help feeling that he is being overhyped - I think he could be the next Karel Poborsky (remember his wonder goal in Euro 96?)

Well done Spain! So well deserved.  Euro2008 has been a great FootballFest - we've seen some of the best football ever and soooo sexy too!  Spain's style has sent a new football benchmark around the world - brill!  ;-)

The best team won, but no one rioted? Well we weren't there, so that made for a relativly peaceful Tournament I hope. Unless there was trouble, but your lying Red Tops chose to ignore it.
