Activities for pensioners

I have promised a neighbour who has recently lost her partner that I would try to find out about activities in and around the area. She would very much like to meet other people for company as she is now quite lonely. Does anyone know of any pensioners groups or daily activities that go one please. She will be visiting the library to see what she can find out but any other suggestions would be very welcome. Many thanks in advance

I run bridge classes for beginners and improvers at the Brentham Club in Ealing - and this is an ideal way to make new friends as well as learning a new pasttime. A new beginners course will start in September.

My mother (when she was fit enough) used to work one day a week in Oxfam and enjoyed it very much. She met lots of people of her own age and they had a good social life as well as putting something back.
