traffic Ealing High Street

I can't be the only one who has noticed the sudden increase in traffic heading down Ealing High St and blocking the junction with Uxbridge Road. This at times backs traffic up all the way to Ealing Common.  This must be due to the Primark effect. My friend says that there are 40% more cars than normal since the store opened.  If the traffic light at the bottom of Ealing High St were phases slightly more in favour of the straight-on traffic, of which there is considerably more, it would ease the flow and free the streets of stationary cars and buses.  Any opinions?

Yes, we've noticed an increase of traffic since Primark opened - often it's bumper-to-bumper down High St from the Uxb Road and also going up Bond Street from the Green. The Green and the top end of St Mary's Road are also often full of traffic. Another contributory element are the frustrated cardrivers who cruise around the area because they can't find suitable places to park due to the recentlt installed CPZ Zone JJ. Pollution and car noise is awful in this area - worse than usual. The car park at the shopping centre is rather full these days too. I suppose we'll have to grin and bear it - we live in a city after all.  :-(

Some of the car park parking must just be displaced from the CPZs and not actually extra shoppers.It is a totally inadequate queuing system for the car park ie the queue is on a narrow road that is the only route south for a mile or so in either direction.
