Sign War on Northfield Avenue
Has anyone else noticed the "Sign War" that has broken out amongst the Indian restaurants on Northfield Avenue? "Posh Punjab" first started it, then "India India", "Cardamom" (my personal favourite with their sign now flashing delightfully in five different colours) and now "Rajput" with a much brighter pink neon offering that wouldn't look out of place in a red light district. Fair play, they're doing their best to lure in the punters, but as far as I can tell they've only succeeded in doubling Ealing's electricity consumption. As ever, Monty's - sign unchanged - continues to bring in more customers than the others put together.
