Effects of diversity reach gentle Ealing

         Gunned down in alleyway off Cavendish Avenue Police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal shooting of a man in West Ealing.     Let's hope gentle Ealing ( where has it gone ) isn't going the way many other London Boroughs have.

Actually Tony its 'Genial'.I started that one off as Genial is an anagram of Ealing, as is Linage, but 'Gentle' fits just as well, sadly overwhelmed by the pointless vitriol that pevades these threads. Indeed our Ancestors of recent times would no doubt be horrified at this latest outrage within Ealing's borders. However Ealing is not immune from the downturn in Public order. Many reasons for this, meddling Politicians of all colours have much to answer for. Maybe if some of us, me included had paid more attention to what was going on around us, instead of being 'all liquored up in The Affluence Saloon', we might have been able to apply more political balance by getting involved, and applying some Commonsense to the problems we face.

Colin,How,exactly,would you suggest we 'apply more political balance by getting involved'.Exactly what do we get involved with?Explain please.

I meant getting involved on the Political 'Front Line' as it where, instead of just sitting back enjoying 'affluence' whilst Political 'Anoraks'spent hours and hours infiltrating into every nook and cranny of Political life Keith.

Not much clearer Colin.How do we get involved in a way that lets us be heard?We have a vote every four years,big deal,that does not change anything.What else do you suggest we do?How does 'getting involved'manifest itself?

Well of course Keith not everyone can involve themselves in Politics. But when I was involved with Trade Union matters, many years ago, I came in contact with people who were so dedicated that they spent all their waking hours involving themselves in politics to the detriment of any social or family life. Going on however to becoming Local Councillers and in a few cases MPs.That was their choice, not for me I thought at the time, but maybe I should have thought otherwise.The balance however was always to the Left, or Left of Centre.In fact interestingly there was quite a bit of conflict between the two, as is the case now! Now if there had been more people a little Right of Centre like me, maybe the Political Scene in this Country would have been a 'Broad Church' as Harold Wilson used to describe the Labour Party as, except the whole political scene would have been broader. I guess from your replys to me that your not one who would want to get involved like that, fair enough, its not everybody's scene, but if there is no balance then 'TheAnoraks' of this World get there unapposed, and are left to make the unholy mess that we see today.I have to say I am as guilty as anyone over this.

So, I hope gentle Ealing is not going the way a lot of other London Boroughs have, especially those in south or east London. But as we know, gentle Ealing is a thing of the past.

Re  Why thhe questions, Tony IMO was not making assumptions, what was your reason for asking........being cynical perhaps?              xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx        Andrew, I saw a link going across the bottom of the Forum, which I locked into, and the item said a person was gunned down in Cavendish Ave. ?, and TRIDENT were involved, which means one thing. Hopefully the effects of immigration that have besmerched south and east London are not emerging here. Time will tell. The media will very often not disclose details of those involved in various crimes, but reference to Trident is pertinent.

The politicians and social expert said not to worry, as those entering will be looking to go to the countries and towns where they will fit in (Where they have relatives/friends, and where they speak the language mostly). So Algerians and Moroccans will go to France, Turks mostly to Germany, Indians and Pakistani´s, as well as most Middle African countries to the UK, and Mexicans to the US. So according to them it won´t create any problems for the people of these countries, as the immigrants will just blend in. Already in one Arab City, 35,000 have applied legally to go, and the UN has already started some ships on their way to Spain (Even before the votes have been cast, they´re that sure of the outcome), while others are avoiding going via the UN immigration Centres and are making their own way to the borders, knowing they´re not going to be turned back. Once they have entered the EU, they also have the right to travel and settle in any country of their choice !!"
