The demise of theTown House

I walked past this drinking establishement today and it appears to now be closed. I can't say I am too disappointed in its demise however it's a large site in the centre of town so I do hope there are plans to revamp it under another name (and hopefully gain a different clientle, including the bouncers)Does anyone know what the plans are?

It is going to be a hotel.

Thanks!  Any idea of what sort of hotel? I.e. part of a chain...

It's not going to be a hotel - it's going to be flats. The head terms from the two current planning applications are as follows:1. Internal and external alterations, erection of 2nd and 3rd floor extensions, lift over-run extension to roof extract ducting and enclosed staircase extension to North side of building in conjunction with the conversion of a public house and waffle shop to two drinking establishments (Use Class A4) and use of domestic accommodation on 2nd and 3rd floors and part of 1st floor as 9 flats (7 two bedroom and 2 one bedroom) 2. Internal and external alterations, erection of 2nd and 3rd floor extensions and enclosed staircase extension in conjunction with the conversion of the 2. commercial element into two drinking establishments (use class a4) and use of the 2nd and 3rd floors as 9 x 2 bedroom flats

Not more flats ! This means it probably won't do anything for years.there are too many flats on the market already. What a noisy dirthy place to live !

Small fry compared to Dickens Yard and Arcadia should they both go ahead... The face of Ealing centre in a few years - lots of flats with sub-standard transport to serve them.BUT that's another story!

What kind of person would want to live in a flat over a Pub!! I suppose someone who liked a drink. But just think of the noise!!
