Presume it won`t affect the school other than increasing class sizes? From the council website 13 flats were envisaged in 2004 probably substantially increased due to weak local government and lunatic national government.

My concern is as a trustee of the church next door. We will be affected.

At least some house are proposed in the developement along with the inevitable flats. The church next door might attract some very local worshippers, and the developement is really too small to overwhelm the primary school next door.Currently the building is a mess, an eye-sore and a waste of space.

It was an interesting meeting and I found out the back door is the way into the school: a long walk from the front indeed.

28 flats and 6 townhouses are to be proposed on the one acre site. Sadly the attractive building with the querky history(Chines Embassy/Nunnery/Monastery?) is to be demolished. 28 cars will park underground and 6 on the surface. There is some landscaping planned and two of the old trees will survive. There's also a small outside public seating and informal play area. The access road is immediately adjacent to Drayton Green Primary School.I know of no-one who has looked round the old building or who has walked around the grounds - so it's hard to know just what is being lost in demolition. Demolition is planned for Summer 2009.All the housing will be 'Social' ie none will be availble for outright commercial purchase.Architects are Macfarlane Wilder.Expect a Planning Application from Notting Hill in the next four weeks. No 26 storey 'Tupperware Tower'- style residential block has, as yet, been proposed for the site...

Oh that is a shame that the old building isn't being kept, whilst it looks terrible now every time I have walked past it I thought it would be a great development for rennovation.  I do hope the new design isn't as souless as the approved plans for Ealing Broadway by St George and Glenkerrin (although most of this housing will infact be for private ownership)
