Petition to BBC to reinstate Carole Thatcher

In case anyone is interested there is a petition asking the BBC to reinstate Carole Thatcher after she was sacked for comments made OFF AIR which was then blown out of all proportion.When the BBC can keep the likes of Johnathan Ross, Russell Brand, Jeremy Clarkson and the like for making nasty comments ON AIR - even Jo Brand has been in trouble over recent remarks she made - yet they sack Carole Thatcher. She was a breath of fresh air on The One Show but the Leftie Luvvies (yes them again) didn't like her - or her mother!So far over 741 people have signed this petition so if anyone wishes to do so details as follows:http://www.PetitionOnline.com/1thatc.8Or just go on to the BBC website and see some of the comments made so far.

And I wish there were one to get rid of Clarkson and that useless show TopGear which consists of over grown schoolboys racing around in cars none of us will ever own, thus of no real practical interest. Yes Jean they certainly display double standards, I think Clarkson is a disgrace, although I'm not a fan of Gordo, but the remark he made about him was something that should bring about at least a suspension, but do you know what, they won't jeopardise their viewing figures will they? Yes the luvvies strike again!

Tony, I was so annoyed at the way the BBC treated Carol Thatcher that I actually went on to the main BBC website and joined in order to use the blog. You go to the url then put Carole's name in the search. Been there done it. Now where is the petition to re-instate her mum, our dearest Saint Margaret? These matters now mean I want the BBC privatised. Scrap the licence fee. Sack the luvvies in control.

Trying to look at this objectively, I don't think anyone would think that Carol Thatcher genuinely is a racist. I think that she is simply the product of a cosseted, middle-class upbringing, and is simply unaware of the colonial and racist connotations of the golliwog figure. Naturally this all counts for nought at the BBC, which seems to give in to the slightest bit of bad publicity these days. Her only crimes are ignorance and stubbornness , for refusing to apologise and thereby neutralising the situation with the BBC staff.  I completely agree that she should be re-instated.

I grew up in the street Carole Thatcher lived in during the 80's.  My friend who is of mixed race and who I still see to this day used to work in the local library and Carole was often late returning her books, I have it on very good authority, SHE IS NO RACIST.

So they have used the recent incident as being exactly what the excuse they want, to gag and humiliate a Thatcher.  And I and a good few more are getting fed up with this obsession with the tag of racism. If wanting one's country to remain one's country in all ways and not have to pander to alien ideologies etc etc makes one a racist, then I and a good many more are racists, and let's not overlook the fact, we English ( Irish Scots and Welsh ) are the LEAST racist of all. There are many in our country who  have chosen to come amongst us and are far more racist than we.

After I posted the Facebook group showing majority supprto for CT I listened to Any Questions. Lo and behold. Dimbledore surveyed his audience and they supported the Beeb. IIRC all the panellists except Widdy did too. No balance there then. The Beeb propagandize for the Left and pretend to objectivity. Scrap the license fee!

From one of my favorite urls, The Brusells JournalThird, it was reported on the 2nd February 2009 that the comedian and Labour Party supporter Jo Brand was being investigated by the police for allegedly inciting criminal acts against her political opponents. While presenting a BBC television programme on the 16th January 2009, she rejoiced that the membership list of the British National Party had been stolen and published on the Internet. Her exact words were: "Hurrah! Now we know who to send the poo to". The natural meaning of her words was that it would be a fine idea to look up members of this party and send excrement to them through the post. The British National Party put in an immediate complaint, using the hate speech laws made during the past generation. According to a BBC spokesman, "We do not comment on police matters. However, we believe the audience would have understood the satirical nature of the remarks". It is relevant to note that Mrs Brand was present when Carol Thatcher made her "golliwog" remarks, and may have had a hand in denouncing her.

Perhaps we should feel sorry for anyone who looks up to the likes of Jo Brand as a role model?It is worth noting that the popularity of the likes of Russell Brand and Johnathan Ross appeared to INCREASE after they made those nasty remarks on air. I suspect they are more popular with the younger members of society.It is disturbing to think that a great many people today appear to think these "celebrities" are actually funny. They are an absolute disgrace to their profession and if they had an ounce of talent in the first place surely they would not have to resort to using smutty jokes, schoolboy humour and innuendo!It would not surprise me that Jo Brand was very keen to make the most of the remark made in private because it involved Carole Thatcher. It is a known fact that Jo Brand is a staunch Labour suppporter. She doesn't come out of the situation smelling of roses - on the contrary!!!By the way - one wonders whether Jo Brand is related to Russell Brand? - they appear to enjoy the same nasty type of humour.The hierarchy at the BBC should consider the views of the licence payers who are fed up to the back teeth listening to bad language, smutty jokes and have certain standards for their presenters to live up to.

I often wonder if people genuinely think the current wave of supposed celebrities and " stand-up " comedians are amusing or whether they feel they have to sham show their appreciation so as to be accepted themselves. If so, I feel sorry for them, they must be so insecure, sad, like those who see the Brand person as a role model.

If you ring the Beeb with a complaint the introductory recording direct you to the web if CT is your subject. She was not mine. I was objecting to BBC1 6.30 London news where their estuary English reporter kept talking about po' 'oles which he said were springing up. I pionted out there are t and h in pot hole, not glottal stops and holes cannot spring up. In my book they appear or develop.

Our culture is made up of many religions, and many are non believers, of which I am one. My reason is that almost every conflict, now and in the past involved religions,. Take a look at the Palestinian /Israeli conflict. all followers of the same God apparently, but continue to kill each other. So our culture is not about just one God, but encompasses believers and non believers of all religions.
