Low down & Dirty?  Fine the litter louts!

If Ealing has a poor record for keeping the streets litter free perhaps it is about time litter louts were punished for dropping itter?In Hammersmith there are signs on the street furniture warning of a £75 fine for littering.I'm sure the council would make lots of money if they got tough on the culprits!

Enforcing litter laws would be like the "sus" laws, certain groups would say they were targetted more than others.

I'd give Ealing Council the benefit of the doubt.Maybe the rubbish is blown in, or bussed in, from the surrounding boroughs.

An maybe with the new database the govt want. our movements between boroughs as identified from google mobile or oyster will allow them to find new ways of taxing us. Interesting point about the litter police. they fine Smokers for putting their butts out on the pavement. However if all the smokers put their butts in litter bins then the C02 emissions from all the Fire Engines getting called out would cause many problems. Enterprising councils could remove litter bins to ensure that more people drop litter. the revenue possibilities are endless,
