Spring forward - fall backwards!

Hi everyone, just a little reminder to change the clocks tonight! One hour less sleep!I know it's a pain having to go around the house altering clocks and so on but what choice have we?

A most timely reminder!!!Thank you.Actually several of our clocks at home are "radio clocks" and are set automatically, as are the pcs.

It's typical of the UK that someone in this country thought up the idea of daylight saving (by 1909)  but we were one of the last European countries to implement it, in 1916, 3 weeks after the Bosch. I suppose the excuse is we were b*ggering about with some war.If this government was really serious about energy consumption the we would be on BST in the winter and double BST in the summer.

DunnoThe PCs did it nicely but that still leaves an awful lot of clocks and, my particular hate, the ones in the car.Ixn't there a blue plaque somewhere round here for the man who invented daylight savings time? Someone at the market yesterday mantioned it.

Graham - is you radio clock actually receiving the radio transmission? If it isn't it will probably happily trundle along on its current setting.Our clocks get the signal from Frankfurt, but then they are EU immigrants (Lidl)!

My hubby has a little moan each time we have to alter the clocks, some of our new equipment changed automatically such as the DAB Radio, Freeview and the TV.He still has to go around the house changing clocks on the Microwave, DVD player, video reorder, a number of portable radios and of course clocks - we seem to have them everywhere!

Am I bovvered?????I still like my video recorder but many people have thrown theirs away in favour of the DVD players! What a waste in my opinion! Why shuld I discard all my videos just to 'keep up appearances'?As for clocks and a couple of battery radios, well I've had them for years too and if they are still working then why not use them?Yes we do have a couple of new electrical items but we worked jolly hard for our money so if the PC brigade don't like it.....tough!
