Muslim Children and Sex EducationMuslim parents teach their children to respect their teachers. From a very young age, we are taught that Islam teaches us that after our parents, our teachers are most deserving of respect. It must be an extremely confusing time for the Muslim parent in Leytonstone, London. For up to 30 parents may face prosecution for withdrawing their children from school, disobeying the teachers in the school, simply to secure a decent moral upbringing for their children. The school had decided to have a week of lessons about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history. Part of this was a special adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet retitled Romeo and Julian as well as fairytales and stories changed to show men falling in love with men. Rather than filling the heads of impressionable boys and girls with fatuous drivel about gay penguins, schools should be ashamed of the fact that they are sending children out into the world barely able to read, write and add up properly. Muslim children are leaving schools without learning their cultural roots and linguistic skills.The action was being taken against the parents as part of a policy of ' promoting tolerance'. So why not tolerate parents, who, for sincerely-held reasons, consider their children too young to be taught about gay relationships? This isn't education, its cultural fascism. A record numbers of pupils persistently played truant in 2006-07, with around 272,950 pupils persistently absent in 2007, missing more than 20% of school. We rarely see councils prosecute the parents of these persistent truants. Yet, the parents who removed their children as a one-off to protect their morality may be prosecuted!If the local council does decide to go through with a prosecution, it would be in line with the government's approach to the Muslim community. Muslims who believe homosexuality is a sin would be labelled as extremists. Liberal totalitarianism is a growing phenomenon in Britain and the west in general but many people will be shocked that the school can override a parent's view of what's appropriate or inappropriate to teach their children. This latest episode should be a wakeup call for Muslim parents. Muslim parents MUST explain our moral standards to schools and be prepared to take steps to protect our children’s morals and values from a growing agenda to impose liberal values upon them. This is an eye opening for those Muslim parents who keep on sending their children to state schools to be mis-educated and de-educated by non-Muslim monolingual teachers.The solution of all the problems facing Muslim children is state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers. Those state schools where Muslim children are in majority may be designated as Muslim community schools. Re  What age was Aisha when her marriage was consummated?            xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx        Supposedly she was 4 when the prophet became interested in her and asked her father, a friend , for her hand in marriage which  apparently took place when she was 6 and which was consumated when she was either 8 or 9 so some say, although followers of Islam say she was 11 or 12. Mohammed was 50 years older than Aisha.

Interesting thoughts on Gay Penguins. Agreed that the PC community which attacks Christianity as intolerant and also Islam. Those parents like many others are concerned about Education. The key for all is that the ability to read, write and do arithmetic is the basis for all to succeed. So whilst as an Christian Adult I am aware of Homosexueality in anaimals and Nature as a fact, I also feel that Children need more important facts to learn about. Learn about the Natural World. But Homsexuality is a subject that needs a more thoughtful and personal approach in the growing child. Gay Week at a school is perhaps a counter productive move in that it would make a school appear to be promoting it. We must develop a tolerant society where people find their way with sensative help. The PC brigade in trying to promote tolerance tend to end up doing the opposite!!

Where there is the element if "Force" as it is deemed to be good for you then that is wrong. However for people of all faiths to share knowledge. Or for people to be made aware of History in a wider sense is quite right. Where it informs and where we all learn it is good. So Germany in 1870 thru 1950 would be a good example. Remember Education not Indoctrination. Homosexuality can be dealt with as children get to secondary school as something that is different but also quite natural. I believe most people are very tolerant, but do not put people in a corner where they could be labelled bigots as they may turn into bigots. Because the Jews and Christians of Ethiopia protected Mohammeds family, he said that muslims must not persecute them. Sadly history has taken away the tolerance that if defined in all our religions and we must return to that message. Multi-Cultural to me is a broader celebration of what makes us different. We also have more in common than divides us. I was at a wedding in Dublin and did a reading from the bible. As a so called Protestant in a Catholic Church was that a problem. Not at all after all we are all meant to be Children of Abraham!!

It may be against the Muslim's belief that lebian & gay sexual activities but what these Muslim parents must understand they have brought their children into a Christian country and therefore cannot demand that the children receive special treatment or have special schools set up for the sole purpose of teaching Muslim children Muslim law. Im sure if I took my children to a Muslim country that country would not build a special school to teach Christian beliefs.

Re  Homosexuality can be dealt with as children get to secondary school as something that is different but also quite natural.        xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx    basically I agree with you but I wonder if the reason for introducing the subject at an earlier age is a) to help those who realise they may well be " different from the mainstream "  and b) to help stop any bullying, which has been rampant so Stonewall say towards gays in schools. I think I read recently the subject is to be introduced at kindergarten stage, which seems nonsensical. Poor little blighters won't know what it's all about?.        However, the old problem arises as to what is normal, as there are loads who are bi-curious or even bi-sexual, which makes sense. What infuriorates me is that some feel they have the right to tell others what they cannot do. Certain religions are to blame for this and attract adherents who prefer not to think for themselves  but do what they are told, conning themselves into believing they are " good boys, and girls".

The doctor who took Ishtiaq's case told ICC that Ishtiaq had excessive internal and external bleeding, a fractured skull, and brain injuries.A correspondent from the ICC confirmed that he saw a warning posted outside the tea stall, which read: "All non-Muslims should introduce their faith prior to ordering tea. This tea stall serves Muslims only."

This man is a troll. His thread looks like a piece of propaganda that has little to do with Ealing. Faith has nothing to do with education, and while I understand the historic significance of Christianity and education of children (the churches fulfilled a roll not provided by government at the time), I certainly don't feel the way forward is the ghettoisation of education through the rolling out of schools based on minority faiths. I have visited the website he represents and it is nothing more than a tool to promote his own very narrow, and in my opinion, sick view of the world.

He posts his tripe all over the country, new thread on Acton Forum, to which no-one has bothered to respond. You will find his current theme is anti gay propoganda, which could get him into trouble if he goes too far. He refuses to realise most folk have  progressed from fundamental religious teachings, be they Judaism, Christianity or Islam ( all from same base )and the latter is the one most stuck in medieval rut. Ifti might like to consider the following extract from Telegraph article, but Ifti never replies, just a one-sided exercise as far as he is concerned, apart from which his dogmatic attitude does not permit sensible thought :-        " Dolphins have been known engage in same-sex interactions to facilitate group bonding  The pairing of same sex couples had previously been observed in more than 1,000 species including penguins, dolphins and primates. Promoting homosexuality would only be counterproductive if homosexuality is to be viewed as a negative thing. People seem to have this idea that children need to be protected from homosexuality because they are considered non-sexual beings, but children are heterosexualised from birth.

I don't know why someone would choose to live in the UK – a secular, democratic, inclusive country – and demand a separate education system for his children, based on a very different world view. He could get this type of education in a Muslim state. If it means that much to him he could always move there. Surely he knows that the country he lives in is a broadly secular one with a historical foundation in the Enlightenment and expanded Christian ideals. I can only imagine his joyless, narrow-minded view of the world has been shaped by a horrible childhood. Instead of a dogmatic, barbaric approach to the world he should try a year of therapy.
