Comedy festival tickets
Congratulations to the council events team for once more putting on such a fine lineup for the summer comedy festival - not to mention the jazz festival, the blues day, the newly-incorporated beer festival and all the other summer events which are such a boon to this borough. But shame on them that this year there is no box office within Perceval House for the comedy festival. Tickets are available only through an outside agent, See Tickets. In the past tickets were on sale for cash with no additonal fees. Now you can get tickets only from See, with.. wait for it... a BOOKING FEE of £1.40 per ticket, and a TRANSACTION FEE of £1.60 per booking. So to book four tickets you have to shell out an extra £7.20 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So they've lost at least one tight-fisted punter right here, plus the three others he (I) was going to buy tickets for.Is there anyone in the entertainment business who can explain these additional fees, which have crept in slowly over the last 20 years or so and are now accepted as the norm? What is their justification? Fercryinoutloud, how much does one second-class stamp and one envelope cost??? BTW the ealing.gov.uk website is down again.
