Parking booklet

Got a nice glossy booklet through my letter box today about parking in Ealing.I can't make it out - is parking that confusing we need a 45 page booklet to describe it?

Okay, so I read the thing. Even as anti-car use as I am, I'm willing to concede parking regulations look like Council Tax by stealth.

Am sure when I applied for my parking permit last year I was given the option of buying day tickets, however this year when I renewed I can't seem to remember if there was this option. The day tickets supplied whilst very useful for visitors, does not appear to be as many as I was able to buy last year. Admittedly I very rarely use my car as I rely on either public transport or walk.

Interesting reading but still incomplete information.And enforcement is inconsistent.

I am in an area surrounded by Car Park Zones and waiting to hear whether the road outside is about to be added. Recently I have been pretty sure that whatever time I leave the space will be taken within a few minutes, and often while I am still only a few yards away, and occupied for a long time. If I am now in a CPZ I will be able to return during two one hour periods at times when I am less likely to need to return, and I will then be more likely to find somewhere nearby to park. Whoopee.
