Recycling bags

It's only about 18 months or so since the recycling bags were distributed by the Council (or is my memory playing tricks?).  The bags were supposed to last about 3 years, I think.  I don't know if this part of Ealing is unique, but all the houses hereabout seem to now be sporting very tatty broken down recycling containers.  Our plastics bag became totally unusable, so we managed to order a new one from the Council.  After about 3 weeks, it mysteriously was swapped for a falling-apart one (with a number 47 written on the flap - but none of the streets around here go up to that number!).Isn't it time for Ealing Council to accept that these bags are not fit for purpose, find a more long-lived replacement and swap them out?

Their operatives also swapped our decent bag for a tatty one from a neighbour. As he is a sick man we decided to ask for a replacement bag. Two weeks on and no new bag received.

I returned 2 faulty garden bags to the Council. They also had a batch which were so badly made that the stitching missed the edge completely and they were totally unfit for purpose!Also they disintegrate after a short time.Perhaps they will find another supplier?

When we were given the first pink reusable bags they came with instructions to keep them indoors or in a shed.  I don't have the room so I keep them rolled in an upturned green box until I need them.  This seems to work for me.

What happened when I ordered the pink bags a month or so ago they actually arrived with fauklty stitching which meant the bottom was falling out of the bags so they could not possibly be used.Hopefuly this was just a faulty batch but they certainly were poor quality.  I did take them back to the Town Hall and got replacements.
